DuPont™ Tyvek® works in tandem with active ingredients to enable the rapid absorption and containment of gases that promote food spoilage.
Tyvek® is available in styles compliant with food contact regulations in the U.S. and Europe. Selected styles of Tyvek® such as 1059B, 1073B, 1058C, 2058C and 2025B meet the requirements of the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDA) requirements of Title 21 for food contact applications.
Ethylene accelerates the spoilage of many fruits and vegetables, even at low concentrations. The quality and shelf life of produce during distribution and storage is greatly improved with scavenging packaging technology. The breathability of Tyvek® allows sachets containing ethylene-absorbing elements to perform as intended, extending the shelf-life of fresh food and produce.
